Apple-Products are popping up more and more frequently at Amso.eu. We recently wrote about the iPhone 8, but that's just the beginning. Today we're going to introduce another smartphone model designed specifically for business customers. This is the iPhone SE (2016).

Why should you choose the IPHONE SE (2016)?

The Cupertino-based company introduced the iPhone SE to the world in 2016, and back then this smartphone proved to be a real bestseller. The popularity of this model has not waned over the years, which is not only due to the very, very good specifications, but also to the size of the device and the support from the manufacturer. But let's start from the beginning.

Does the iPhone SE have an Android competitor?

They say the iPhone SE has no direct rivals, but is that truth or myth? It's the truth, at least in terms of size. Other giants of the smartphone market, such as Samsung, have decided to move to larger dimensions. Apple took a different route and launched a smartphone with a 4-inch screen. Why is that so great? These are just my personal feelings, and each of you is entitled to your own. Some people prefer larger sizes because they are better for watching videos, surfing the internet, etc. On the other hand, small is beautiful. The iPhone SE weighs very little, fits well in the hand and, just as importantly, fits in practically any pocket. This makes the iPhone SE a very compact and convenient device. Is it worth buying a small smartphone from Apple? As I mentioned earlier, the decision is up to you. You have to ask yourself the question: what do you expect from a smartphone?

The design is no different. Some will say it looks old. Others that it's a classic look. Personally, I like the iPhone SE. The aluminum back, the metal trim, the minimalist buttons - it all looks great and feels very classy to the touch. The most important thing about all this, however, is that this device can be easily operated with one hand, or more precisely with one finger - the thumb - due to its compactness. This is simply impossible with large smartphones.

Of course, the SE model can be criticized for not being waterproof and having the old fingerprint reader familiar from the iPhone 5S, but that's the end of the shortcomings. Why? Because it really is quite a powerful little device, equipped with an A9 processor that is still very powerful. The device is supported by up to 2 GB of RAM (I should mention that even in the highest series today, the maximum RAM available is 3 GB).

At the heart of our little hero are two 1.85 GHz cores and 6 PowerVR GT7600 graphics cores. There is also a good IPS screen with a resolution of 640x1136 pixels, and the whole thing is powered by a 1624 mAh battery, which enables trouble-free operation throughout the working day. Also worth mentioning in the technical data is the 12 megapixel camera, which can record 4K UHD (30 fps) and FHD videos (60 fps and even 120 in slow motion). The front camera is worse, as it only has 1.2 megapixels, but you can't have everything.

The very good audio quality, which is achieved thanks to the Cirrus Logic 338S120 codec, makes up for this. Thanks to the use of this library, every song and movie sounds very clear and you can enjoy the sound of this device.

The iPhone SE also performs very well in terms of connectivity. The standards have changed a little, of course, but... the equipment that the SE has is often not even found in much newer smartphones. NFC technology (which allows you to pay with your phone in stores) isn't everywhere yet, but this little guy has it. Does every phone have WIFI 802.11ac? No, and the iPhone SE supports it. Bluetooth 4.2, LTE connectivity, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, Beidou - you get all that along with a Lightning connector and a conventional headphone input. Just a reminder: the jack was already removed on the iPhone 7.

Thanks to the iOS ecosystem, the hardware still copes very well with games and individual apps can be opened smoothly. Of course, you first have to get used to this system. I won't go into detail here, as this is a topic for a separate publication, just like with Android, but the optimization developed by Apple ensures that the iPhone SE runs very smoothly with the latest iOS and you can enjoy fast and reliable operation of the device.
